Who we are
David & Sam is a small firm owned and run by two people. We do three things: we buy and manage buildings, we invest in growing businesses, and we advise companies on difficult decisions.
There’s no committee to get past and no one you’ll be handed to after the first meeting. Both of us work on everything, which caps how much we can take on — that’s the trade we’ve chosen.
Because we use our own money for the property and investment work, the advice side is grounded in things we’ve actually done rather than things we’ve only read about.
How long each type of work takes
We aim to own a building for ten years or more.
We usually stay invested for five years or more.
Most projects run for four to twelve weeks.
Rules we stick to
We don't manage buildings we don't own
Managing someone else's building well is a different business, and we'd be worse at it.
We don't charge for advice we wouldn't act on
If we wouldn't put our own money behind the recommendation, we won't bill you for it.
We don't sell just because a year ended
There's no fund deadline behind us, so we're never forced to sell something at the wrong time.
We don't grow past what two people can follow
If we can't both know every deal properly, we've taken on too much.
